Final Major Project - Examples of Assets, Features and Structures in Games
After finishing one developed concept, before I move onto a new one I needed more reference to structures, features and assets. More specifically, in games. Not only was this a recommendation from our group critique session but also because real life/primary source examples only do so much.
So, what I did was produce a few research pages/mood boards with various images of houses, assets, structures, vehicles and general miscellaneous items from games like Fallout and Borderlands of which were recommended to me. There are various parts of these screenshots that wouldn't be helpful to me and would not embody the story, look and feel of what I am aiming to achieve. However, there are minor sections and details that could. For example. I would never use the vehicle design that borderlands did but I may use the texture technique or the overlay effects like splatters, scratches etc.
I feel this will be very helpful. especially with my art style of minimalistic polygon masking. As long as I use the sections that are applicable to my theme wisely, I feel confident it will look the part.
