Mechanical Marvel - Joint Study & Robotic Limb Experiment

Mechanical Marvel - Joint Study & Robotic Limb Experiment

Joint study was an essential piece of research that we had to do. What we were tasked with was taking both a human joint/limb and then taking the same limb/joint but from a robotic or mechanical source. From this point we had to then study, examine and think about the benefits in both of these whilst comparing and contrasting the pros an cons of the two joint/limbs. I decided to do an arm.

The joint study was vital too making sure that I understand what the creative limitations were with certain areas of design. For example, if I am to do a humanoid how will these joints/limbs work? How will they be connected? Will the be anatomically correct and operate as human ones would?

These are all questions that were tied into this task, hence why we did it. I found it useful, certainly.

Robotic Limb Experiment

To test and put this research/Study to use what we were tasked with doing was taking an image from real life of a limb or joint and then manipulating it to make it look robotic. I used various metal, bolt and wire textures to execute this robotic/cyborg looking humanoid arm. I found this more than useful.
